When and how to tell us about the placement of a child or young person in an adult unit.

When you need to tell us about an admission to an adult unit

You must notify us when

• a child or young person under 18 years is placed in a psychiatric ward or unit intended for adults
• where the placement lasts for a continuous period of longer than 48 hours.

You must provide all the information we ask for. If your form is incomplete we will return it to you.
