Our view of the service

We undertook an on-site assessment of this service on 4 April 2024. This assessment was prompted by a review of the information we held about the service. Also, the last rating for the service was ‘Requires Improvement’ (published 24 April 2023), with a breach identified in staffing. We assessed a total of 9 quality statements from the safe, effective, caring and responsive key questions and found areas of concern as well as some areas of good practice. The scores for these areas have been combined with scores based on the key question ratings from the last inspection. Our overall rating remains requires improvement. We found breaches in our regulation relating to the need for consent, safe care and treatment and good governance. This means the service needs to make improvements in these areas. We will request an action plan from the provider to understand what they will do to improve standards of quality and safety. We will continue to monitor information we receive about the service, which will help inform when we next undertake an assessment. However, following this assessment, we found that the service was no longer in breach of the regulation about staffing. This is because the service has made some improvements recently. Staff now told us they felt supported and could access support as and when needed.

Most days [relative] has to dress herself, whereas other times, she is helped.” People told us they did not have resident meetings or complete regular surveys. Comments included, “I laid in this morning, but that was my choice”, “I can get up when I want. If I missed breakfast, they would still find me something” and “I get up when I want and go to bed when I want.”
