Date of Assessment: 03 Mar 2025. The service is a care home providing care to older people, all of whom live with dementia. At the time of our assessment there were 5 people using the service.
The service had made improvements and were no longer in breach of regulations. Risk posed by the environment had been mitigated. Information about people’s needs and risks to their safety had improved. Governance systems were now more effective but records related to the management of the service would benefit from being better organised and more easily accessible. The provider could also do more to create a positive, stimulating environment for people living with dementia. People were protected from risk of abuse. Risks to people were now managed better. There were enough staff to support people and meet their needs. The service operated safe recruitment practices. Infection risks were managed well. Staff worked with partners to help people achieve positive outcomes. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives. Staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests. People received care focussed on their individual needs, including those related to their protected equality characteristics. People were supported to stay healthy and well and received their medicines when needed. People’s care was regularly reviewed to ensure this remained effective. Staff understood people’s rights and how these should be met. Staff were motivated to deliver high quality care to people. They were valued and supported with their learning and development by the provider. People and staff were encouraged to raise concerns and these were listened to and acted on by the provider.
