During a routine inspection
During the observations we saw staff interacting with people in a friendly and respectful manner. Staff took the time to respond to questions and ask people their preferences. Staff helped people to make decisions about activities that were taking place and to make choices about food and drinks. Where staff were not able to respond to people's requests immediately we observed them letting the person know how long they would be. We observed that staff returned to people to provide help where they had said they would. Staff demonstrated a good understanding of people's needs and communicated with people in different ways. Staff responded to requests for support, for example, to go to the toilet and to get more comfortable in an armchair.
During the visit we spoke directly with four people who used the service. All four said they were well treated by the staff, well cared for and happy at the home. People said they felt safe in the home and were confident that any concerns they had would be addressed and action would be taken.
