Our view of the service
Springfield is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for people, some of whom live with dementia. The service can accommodate up to 65 people across two buildings. The service was registered for nursing care as well, however when onsite we found they no longer provided nursing care at this location. Since our visit they have applied to have the nursing registration removed. We carried out our on-site assessment on 4 and 5 March 2024; off site assessment activity started on 5 March 2024 and ended on 15 March 2024. During this assessment we looked at how people were kept safe by effective staffing, and how people received person centred care, including consent to care and treatment. We also reviewed staff training, how people were supported with independence and equality in outcomes and governance, management, and sustainability. The rating at our last inspection, carried out under our old methodology (published August 2021) was a focused inspection where four key areas were inspected and were rated good. At this assessment the rating remains the same.
