Our view of the service

Date of assessment 23 July to 26 July 2024. Campania is a residential care home for people with effects of Alcohol Related Brain Damage and conditions such as Korsakoff’s syndrome, providing accommodation and personal care. At the time of our assessment 29 people lived at the service. We visited the service on 23 July 2024. We spoke with people who use the service and staff on 23 July 2024. At our last assessment in February 2024 we identified 3 breaches of regulations. Following our findings the provider submitted an action plan. The purpose of this assessment was to follow up the action plan and the identified breaches and to determine if the service was now compliant with the regulations. This assessment has not changed the overall rating. The service remains good. At this assessment we found the service was now compliant with the regulations.

People's experience of this service

We spoke with 7 people who use the service. We received positive feedback about people’s care and support. People told us they felt listened to and could “raise anything” with staff. One person told us “Not sure if it has helped me living here. Yes, I suppose it has. The staff are very good, it is very well run place. Staff are nice and competent”. Another person said “Staff encourage me to do stuff. I get on well with the staff. Can talk to the staff and they listen”. And another person told us “It is restful here for my brain. I am encouraged and not ignored. The quality of care is really good. Staff are supportive”.
