Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
1. Within 14 days of this condition taking effect, the registered provider must implement effective systems and audits to continuously review:
a. Policies and processes to ensure these reflect current good practice guidelines within medicines management. This includes but is not limited to ensuring audits are completed accurately and in a way which captures areas for improvement, ensuring audits enable specific learning outcomes and drive improvement.
b. Policies and processes to ensure the environment; in particular the kitchen area, is secured and safe to prevent harm to service users. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring food is safe to eat and ensuring audits to assess the quality of risk management are completed accurately and in a way which captures areas for improvement, ensuring audits enable specific learning outcomes and drive improvement.
c. Policies and processes to ensure risks to service users are assessed, reviewed and actions plans developed and followed. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring audits to assess the quality of risk management are completed accurately and in a way which captures areas for improvement, ensuring audits enable specific learning outcomes and drive improvement.
d. Policies and processes to ensure safeguarding concerns are identified and escalated in line with the Care Act 2014. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring audits to assess that safeguarding referrals are made in a timely way, and audits to monitor the quality of safeguarding referrals are completed accurately and in a way which captures areas for improvement, ensuring audits enable specific learning outcomes and drive improvement.
e. All incoming information of concern such as medicine errors, whether received as an incident, complaint, service feedback or otherwise are thoroughly analysed and used to drive improvements and shared with relevant partner agencies as necessary.
2. Within 14 days of this condition taking effect, the registered provider must submit a report detailing what action has been taken to comply with the above conditions. On the first Monday of every month thereafter, the registered provider must send to the Care Quality Commission a report outlining the outcomes of their monthly audits. This report must summarise audit findings, the improvement actions to be taken, who is responsible for these actions and the timescales for completion.
Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The Registered Provider must not provide nursing care under accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care at Wythall Residential Home.
The Registered Provider must only accommodate a maximum of 22 service users at Wythall Residential Home.
