Our view of the service

Date of assessment 31 May 2024 to 8 July 2024. This assessment was prompted in part due to concerns received about incident management and safeguarding concerns relating to neglect and poor documentation. As a result, we undertook an assessment to review 12 quality statements under the key questions of safe, effective, and well-led only. We did not find any safeguarding concerns or concerns relating to incident management. However, we did raise concerns over auditing systems and ensuring care plans reflect people’s current support needs. The overall rating for the service has remained ‘Good’ based on the findings of this inspection.

People told us they felt safe living in the home with the staff who supported them. One person said, “The staff are all kind and caring. I’m definitely safe here.” People told us they could access health services when required and people said their care was regularly reviewed with visiting health professionals. Relatives told us the staff team supported people when they experienced distressed behaviour. One relative said, “My [family member] feels safe here. The staff help to support [my family member] when they are feeling distressed.” People told us they felt involved in their care plans. However, we raised concerns about gaps in records and some care plans needed updating to reflect people’s current support needs. People told us there was enough staff available to support them safely. Relatives told us they were confident in the new managers leadership.
