During a routine inspection
Everyone we spoke with felt safe receiving care from Bluebird Care (Newham). Care workers we spoke with were knowledgeable about the different types and signs of abuse. They were able to describe what signs they would look out for. Care workers told us they would report any concerns about a person to their supervisor or the manager.
People were cared for by staff who were not supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to an appropriate standard. We found care workers did not receive a regular appraisal or supervision.
People we spoke with told us they knew how to make a complaint. Most people we spoke with told us the manager from the service would either call or come round on a regular basis to check everything was going well. One person told us 'sometimes they come down or they ring to check all is ok.'
People were not protected from the risks of unsafe or inappropriate care and treatment because accurate and appropriate records were not maintained.
