Our current view of the service

Good

Updated 14 August 2024

Date of assessment 26 August 2024 to 17 September 2024. This assessment was carried out in response to information we had received about the service and to follow up on previous breaches of regulations. At this assessment we found improvements had been made to the management and monitoring of people’s risks, medicines, the deployment of staff and systems of quality monitoring and governance. Peoples care plans reflected their needs and provided staff with the information they needed to manage the identified risks. Medicines were managed safely, and people received their medicines as prescribed. We observed good interactions between people and staff. Staff clearly knew people well and understood their needs. Staff had been safely recruited and had been trained and supported to carry out their role. There was enough staff to support people to remain safe. Staff had undertaken equality and diversity training and told us diversity was valued at the service. There was a good standard of cleanliness at the service, and staff wore appropriate personal protective equipment. Systems were in place to monitor the service and drive improvement. The providers had improved their quality monitoring systems and addressed any shortfalls. The provider valued feedback from people, staff and other stakeholders and acted on their suggestions. The service was well-led. Staff were committed to improving people's quality of life and implemented recommendations made by external professionals. Staff worked well together as a team and with external social and health care professionals. Effective communications systems were in place to share information about people and any changes within the service.

People's experience of the service

Updated 14 August 2024

People and their relatives were happy with the service. They told us their health and social needs were monitored and met. People told us they felt safe and well cared for and they were able to speak up if they had concerns. People and relatives said the staff were kind and caring, and the service was well managed. People and their relatives raised no concerns about the cleanliness or upkeep of the home. Our observations included using the Short Observational Framework for Inspection (SOFI). SOFI is a way of observing care to help us understand the experience of people who could not talk with us.
