During a routine inspection
We looked at four of the care files and found that they were clear and informative and contained details about health and personal care. One person who used the service said, 'I am very happy here. The care is very good and I am involved in decisions about my care and treatment.'
The provider had effective systems in place to minimise the risk of infection. Food hygiene was of a good standard and the location was clean and tidy.
When we spoke with members of staff we found that they were happy with the level of training that had been provided and that sufficient numbers of staff were available to provide the care. There were systems in place when staff shortages occurred to ensure that people received consistent care and treatment.
The absence of a registered manager due to sickness meant that we were unable to access staff records and quality assurance surveys on the day of our visit. When these were sent to us we found that the staff had received the necessary training although some were due for refresher courses. The provider also had systems in place to monitor the quality of service provided through the use of self-inspection and feedback from people using the service and relatives.
