During a routine inspection
Care planning was person centred and children's care and support was planned according to their needs, wishes, choices and safety. Children were protected from unlawful discrimination and were supported to attend school, access healthcare and take part in community life.
Parents felt their home was respected and their children kept safe. 'One thing I do appreciate is that they don't interfere with the rest of my family. They never go upstairs for anything and never take liberties. That's important because at the end of the day it's my other children's home as well'.
People were cared for by staff that had been carefully recruited, of good character and well trained and supported. 'The staff they send are very professional. If I had any concern at all I would contact the team leader. She rings me anyway and asks how things are'.
Quality monitoring systems helped to ensure people received a safe and effective service and their views were listened to. 'I am involved in the meetings to decide what he needs. They do take into account my views and we work well together'.
