During a routine inspection
We found that people spoke positively about the standards of care they received. One person said: 'I am very pleased with all the care staff, and I am grateful for everything they do.' A relative said 'They look after X very well, and the staff are always helpful.'
We observed that people were treated with kindness and respect, and were enabled to stay in their own rooms or to join in with others according to their preference.
People said that the food was 'very good'; and we saw that the menus provided a suitably nutritious and varied diet.
The premises were a large, old, detached building, which was suitably maintained. A lift provided access between all floors, and there were appropriate facilities to meet people's needs.
We found that staff received appropriate training and support to carry out their roles effectively.
The manager had systems in place to monitor the on-going standards of care. People were able to share their views, and appropriate action was taken to address any concerns.
