During our visit we spoke with four people who used the service and five members of staff including the manager and the area manager. People told us they were happy with the care they received and they felt that they were listened to and well looked after. People said that their care needs had been discussed with them when they moved into the service and that decisions had been based upon their wishes.
Staff were observed interacting with people in a relaxed and friendly way. They listened to people's requests and responded quickly and cheerfully. People' s wishes for independence was encouraged and staff and management showed a good understanding of people's needs. People told us they were happy with the menu but if not, they could choose something else and that was no problem.
We saw that people were treated with dignity and respect and had choice, and their views and needs were taken into account and catered for. We found that there were enough staff on duty to meet people's needs and that safeguarding issues were understood and addressed.
During our inspection we identified one area of non compliance. We found that one area of the environment could cause a risk of injury to people concerning a ramp from a fire escape.
