Havenmere Health Care Limited is a care home registered to provide accommodation, personal and nursing care for up to 38 people, including people living with dementia, physical disabilities, younger adults and people with a mental health diagnosis. At the time of our inspection there were 36 people using the service. The service was last inspected in December 2022, no change to the overall rating of Good was made during that inspection. We completed this responsive assessment under our new methodology. The assessment was prompted in part due to concerns received about the safe care and treatment of people. A decision was made for us to assess and examine those risks. This inspection was completed by 1 inspector, 1 medicine inspector, and 1 Expert by Experience. We assessed 8 quality statements within 1 key question. The inspection included site visits on 12 and 19 November 2024. We continued to review evidence off-site after these dates. We spoke with 3 people who lived at the home and 4 relatives. We spoke with 13 staff including registered manager, clinical nurse manager, nurses, senior health care assistants, health care assistants, maintenance and activities staff. Staff were attentive to people’s safety; however, improvements were required in risk management to ensure staff had the correct guidance to follow. Staff supervision was not always completed in line with the provider’s policies. Other areas requiring improvement were found in safe environments, consent and associated person-centred care. We observed positive, warm and respectful interactions between people using the service and staff. Staff felt supported and told us they would feel confident raising any concerns or issues.
