During a routine inspection
During this inspection we spoke with one shared lives worker and the registered manager. We also spoke, on the telephone, to three shared lives carers and three people who used the service.
The people who used the service told us they felt involved in discussions about the placement and the support provided. Shared lives carers also told us they were involved in discussion around placement and support plans.
The support offered to people using the service and the shared lives carers was based on appropriate assessments, which were regularly reviewed and if necessary updated.
Shared lives carers' homes used by the service were checked to ensure they were suitable and safe for the people who used the service.
Shared lives workers and shared lives carers were subject to rigorous recruitment processes.
The shared lives scheme had an appropriate complaints procedure. Shared lives carers and people who used the service were confident that any complaint they may have would be listened to and dealt with appropriately.
