Treating people as individuals
Independence, choice and control
People told us they were supported to be as independent as possible with tasks of daily living and care workers supported them when required. Oner person said, “Yes OK with independence as needed. If I need something, I’ll call” and a relative told us, “Yes, independence is encouraged. Staff do a lot for my family member and encourage independence as well.”
Care workers felt confident when providing support as they regularly visited the same people and understood their support needs.
People’s care plans identified which aspects of their care they were able to manage themselves and where they required support from care workers. Information on the support provided during each visit was recorded by care workers.
