All Inspections

During a routine inspection

Before people received any care or therapy they were asked for their consent and the provider acted in accordance with their wishes. One person told us "They asked me about my needs before I started my sessions. They also spoke to me about giving my consent to treatment and sharing my information with other professionals that may be involved which I gave over the telephone'.

Care and therapy was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people's safety and welfare. One person said "They were really good. They asked me about what I was experiencing and completed a questionnaire on the phone with me". Another person said, 'I found it brilliant."

There were effective recruitment and selection processes in place.

People who used the service, their representatives and staff were asked for their views about their care and treatment and they were acted on.

People had their comments and complaints listened to and acted on, without the fear that they would be penalised for making a complaint. We asked for and received a summary of complaints people had made and the provider's response.

During a routine inspection

We spoke to five people who used the service to get their views on the support and treatment they received from the service. We spoke to staff about the services they provide and the training they had received. We reviewed people's records and looked at quality audits.

People told us that they were treated with respect by staff and felt that they had made progress with their treatment. One person said "I have found it extremely helpful and feel I am improving". Another person told us "They really make you feel comfortable and are very easy to talk to".

The service had appropriate arrangements in place for reporting any possible safeguarding concerns that they had about the people who used the service or their family members to the local authority. This included arrangements in respect of safeguarding children where staff felt that there may be children at risk.

Staff received training and development that was relevant to their responsibility and ongoing development.
