During a routine inspection
Patients told us that they were involved in decisions about their treatment and were told in advance of the associated costs. People were well informed and were able to express their views about their care. Patients told us they were extremely happy with the treatment they received at the practice and were confident that their individual needs were met.
We were told, 'Everyone is very friendly and polite. They involve me in all decisions. A real team approach.' 'I have full confidence in all the staff. I would give them ten out of ten.' And from a patient in their teens; 'I got the full information. They didn't patronise me.'
All areas of the dental practice appeared clean and hygienic. Protocols were in place to ensure all areas were maintained to a good standard of cleanliness. Staff completed decontamination and infection control training and had access to written policies and guidance. These measures helped to promote high standards and protected patients and staff from the risk of infection.
There were policies in place regarding recruitment, equal opportunities and the induction of new staff. Robust checks formed an important part of the recruitment process and helped to ensure only suitable staff were employed. A thorough induction process and mandatory staff training meant staff had the necessary skills and knowledge for their role.
There were good sytems in place to monitor standards of service delivery and to gain feedback from patients.
