We spoke with one person who used the service. They told us, "We discussed the extent of my problems and then discussed the treatment options. It was left to me to decide whether to follow the path of treatment. [The dentist] explained each option in great detail and addressed any questions or concerns I had." They told us that they were very satisfied with the service that they had received. They said, "I am definitely satisfied [with the service], very much so." We looked at the treatment records of three people who used the service. We saw that a periodontal consultation form had been completed for each person. This included information on people's medical history, which had been updated at the start of each new course of treatment.
On the day of our inspection the premises were clean and bright. However, in the decontamination room the floor consisted of textured floor tiles which could not be cleaned effectively. The gaps between the floor and the walls had not be sealed and dirt had accumulated in the join.
We saw that dentist and dental professionals completed the required amount of continuous professional development to maintain their registrations with their professional body.
We saw that the service had asked people to complete a satisfaction survey in 2013. One person commented, "I have had excellent treatment on all my visits."
