During a routine inspection
People were provided with sufficient information to make an informed decision about their treatment. They were given an explanation of the treatment options available to them during their consultation, and this was followed-up with a detailed written treatment plan.
People received care and treatment that ensured their safety and welfare from staff who received appropriate professional development. A detailed medical and dental history was taken for each person and any allergies or medical conditions were recorded on the person's dental record. There was some emergency equipment available and staff had been trained in its use.
There were systems in place to reduce the spread of infection and we saw reusable instruments were sterilized in accordance with recommended guidelines.
