Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The registered provider must not admit any new service users to the location Bramcote Hills Care Home without the prior written agreement of the Care Quality Commission. This includes existing service users who are returning to the service after an admission to hospital, and any emergency and respite admissions.
The registered provider must provide the Care Quality Commission with written documentation setting out the system it operates to ensure adequate staffing capacity is available to meet the requirements of service users at Bramcote Hills Care Home. Including how the registered provider intends to assess the relevant capacity and resources and how it intends to plan and deliver this to meet service user’s needs. The written documentation must include:
• Details of how you have calculated the staffing needs of each resident.
• Details of how many staff will be deployed around the care home, and what areas these staff will be allocated to work.
• Details of how the safety of staffing levels will be monitored on an ongoing basis. If new documentation is created for this auditing, these documentation tools should also be shared.
• Details of how you will ensure there are enough staff to attend to service user’s needs, so their needs are met in a timely way when call bells are pressed.
• Details of how you will ensure service users’ needs are met when they are demonstrating a need for staff support (for example being distressed or unsteady on their feet). This includes how you will ensure the provision of staff monitoring in communal areas.
• Details of how you have assessed the availability of staff to provide focused staff support at mealtimes, and time specific medication rounds. Including, how you will monitor that any arrangements for this focused support are effective.
The Registered Provider must provide a report to the Care Quality Commission by 10am 8 July 2024 and on the Monday of each week thereafter by 10am setting out the steps and progress undertaken to implement the actions as detailed in the above conditions.
The registered provider must provide the Care Quality Commission by the 19 July 2024.
• The actions taken to ensure there are systems in place for effective management of call bell audits.
• The evidence to demonstrate that all staff have completed ‘Behaviours that Challenge training by 15 July 2024.
• The evidence to demonstrate that all staff have completed Dysphagia training by 19 July 2024.
The registered provider must ensure that effective infection control processes are in place by 10 July 2024 and provide evidence to the Care Quality Commission. This must include the following:
• The registered provider must provide written documentation the cleaning schedule covers the whole home is completed, including the deep clean of the kitchen.
• The registered provider must provide a copy of the completed IPC audit carried on 5 July 2024.
• The registered provider must provide a copy of the action plan from the IPC audit by 10 July 2024.
• The registered provider must provide evidence that there are systems in place to ensure that Bramcote Hill Care Home meets Infection Prevention Guidelines.
The Registered Provider must only Accommodate a maximum of 63 service users at Bramcote Hills Care Home.
