During a routine inspection
The inspection was discussed and arranged with the practice shortly in advance. This was to ensure that we had time to see and speak with staff working at the practice. As part of our inspection we spoke with the senior dentist the lead dental nurse and two dental nurses.
During the inspection we spoke with two people who were attending the practice and later to three by telephone. The information provided to us indicated that people were happy with the quality of treatment they received. They felt they had been given enough information about their treatment options. One person said, "I am informed about them. I go for what they recommend." Another person told us, "X has explained today that I need treatment and what I should expect. I have made an appointment to come back and have it done."
We saw that the practice was clean so that the risks of infection were minimised. There was a system in place for people to make complaints if they were not happy with any aspect of the service. We saw that the practice had not received any formal complaints during the last 12 months. Each of the five people we spoke with told us they had never had cause to make a complaint.
