Updated 25 April 2024

Date of Assessment 7 May 2024 Oak Springs Care Home is a care home that provides accommodation for up to 74 people who require nursing or personal care, including people living with dementia. At our last inspection, this service was rated good. The assessment on 7 May 2024 was prompted by a review of information we held about this service. We assessed a total of 8 quality statements from the safe, effective, caring and well led key questions and found areas of good practice. The scores for these areas have been combined with scores based on the key question ratings from the last inspection. Our overall rating remains good. We found good practice in relation to safeguarding people from abuse and improper treatment, managing risk, staffing, infection prevention and control and medicines management. We also found people were involved in planning their care and were assured they were treated with kindness, compassion and dignity by the staff supporting them. While we were assured governance systems were embedded and generally effective, we identified some further improvement was needed to ensure records related to care delivery were consistent with people's assessed needs. The registered manager was responsive to our findings and outlined the action they were taking to improve this area.
