During a routine inspection
People who used the service told us that they were pleased with the care and support that they received from the service. Comments included 'I have regular carers, who support and assist me very well" and 'the carers cannot do enough for me, I would recommend the service to others.'
Family members we spoke with were positive about the care and support received by their relatives. We found that systems were in place to ensure people's consent had been obtained before any support was provided.
Care records we looked at showed that people's needs were assessed, and support plans were in place.
Staff told us that they felt confident in supporting people with their medication. They told us that they had received appropriate guidance in the safe administration of medication.
Staff we spoke with told us that they had enough training and support to enable them to do their job. However training records showed that not all staff were up to date with some areas of essential training.
The provider did not have effective systems in place to assess and monitor the quality of service that people receive, and to identify and manage risks to the health, safety and welfare of people using the service and others.
