During the inspection there was one person living at The Pebbles. We inspected the home over two days as the individual who lived there had complex behavioural needs. We used a number of different methods to help us understand the experiences of the individual who used the service. This was because they were unable to tell us about themselves. We spoke with the individual, two staff, the manager and the individual's parent.
The person appeared relaxed and communicated with staff and happily showed us their bedroom. They chose how and where to spend their time and accessed the community with two staff members.
The relative told us that 'On the whole we are very happy with care provided by (the manager) and the immediate team'.
The person and their relatives were involved in decision making and the development of the individual's care and risk management plans.
Overall, the individual experienced care, treatment and support that met their needs. However, restrictions were not always assessed and body maps were not reviewed and followed up.
Staff were recruited safely and there were systems in place to monitor and assess the quality of the service.
