Our view of the service
Royal Greenwich Shared Lives (RGSL) is a community based accommodation service which supports carers who provide personal care and support for people within their own family homes and community to enable people to live as independently as possible. The service provides support for people who have mental health needs and learning or physical disabilities. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. 'Right support, right care, right culture' is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it. At the time of the assessment, 21 people were receiving personal care. Assessment activity started on 11 April 2024 and ended on 21 June 2024. We looked at 7 quality statements; Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe and effective staffing; Assessing needs, Consent to care and treatment, Independence, choice and control and Equity in experiences and outcomes. Following the onsite assessment, we spoke with 4 people, 4 relatives, 2 placement officers, 2 carers and received feedback from 3 healthcare professionals and an advocate.
