Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
Within 28 days of this condition taking effect, the registered provider must instruct a suitably qualified, skilled and competent person to undertake oversight and governance processes, which include monthly audits in relation to (but not limited to) the following:
a) Compliance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 to ensure decisions made in service users’ best interests are done so in line with legislation;
b) Service user risk assessment and risk management plans to ensure staff have clear up to date guidance to mitigate risk associated with but not limited to; choking, falls and pressure care;
c) Environmental risk assessment and risk management plans to ensure service users and staff are consistently protected from identified risks;
d) Medicines administration and management to ensure service users are consistently protected from the risks associated with medicines;
e) Compliance with national and local safeguarding protocols to ensure timely safeguarding referrals are made and prompt action is taken to mitigate the risks of further safeguarding incidents;
f) Monitoring of accidents and incidents to ensure they are reviewed, thoroughly investigated and prompt action taken to keep service users safe and accident management;
g) Staff recruitment to ensure safe and robust recruitment procedures are consistently followed, including relevant pre employment checks;
h) Staffing dependency levels to ensure that you have the numbers of suitably qualified staff deployed to meet service users' needs;
i) Any other areas the Registered Provider determines is needed.
Within 28 days of this condition taking effect, the Registered Provider must submit a report detailing what action has been taken to comply with the above condition. On the first Monday of every month thereafter, the Registered Provider must send to the Care Quality Commission a report outlining the outcomes of their monthly audits. This report must summarise audit findings, the improvement actions to be taken, who is responsible for these and timescales for completion.
Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The registered provider must not provide nursing care under accommodation for persons who require personal or nursing care at Gingercroft Residential Home.
The registered provider must only accommodate a maximum of 21 service users at Gingercroft Residential Home.
