During a routine inspection
We observed care being given and this showed people were relaxed with staff. However the care people were receiving did not match their care plans. Staff we spoke with were unaware of specific important details in care plans and this was placing people at risk.
We viewed a HealthWatch England report following an Enter and View visit in November 2012. This identified a lack of organised activities for people using the service. During this inspection we also found a lack of activities organised for some people.
We found that staff had received training in safeguarding vulnerable adults from abuse. However, staff were not aware that giving people incorrect care was a form of abuse.
Quality assurance procedures were not being followed due to a planned change of provider which will complete in June 2013. We spoke with two family members of people who used the service. They both said they were happy with the care their relatives were receiving.
