Kindness, compassion and dignity

On the day of inspection, we spoke with 4 patients. They all shared positive feedback about the friendly, helpful and welcoming approach from the staff. Staff helped patients to be involved in decisions about their care and gave patients clear information to help them make informed choices about their treatment. Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected.

Staff were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights. Staff were aware of the importance of privacy and confidentiality. Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles. Leaders described how they supported the wellbeing of staff.

We did not receive any information from partners.

The practice had information governance arrangements and staff were aware of the importance of protecting patients’ personal information. Staff password protected patients’ electronic care records, and paper records were stored securely and complied with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). We saw the general environment helped to protect patients’ privacy and dignity. Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion.
