During an inspection looking at part of the service
We received evidence that confirmed the training had been completed by staff.
We received evidence that confirmed the training had been completed by staff.
People told us that they were happy with the service they received and said "the dentist takes time to tell me about the treatment options and costs", "she explains things well", "I like the dentist and what she said", "I was referred here by another dentist and am very happy with the treatment I received" and "it's always clean". People said staff respected their privacy.
Staff said that they were happy to be working at the surgery. They told us they had the necessary checks before they started work and had the training and support they needed to do their job. They said that they liked working in a small practice which gave them more opportunities to develop their management skills.
We saw that the treatment room, decontamination room and reception area were clean and tidy. We observed staff welcomed people and made sure health information was updated before they saw the dentist. The dentist took time to speak with people about the treatment options available to them. However staff had not received up to date training on dealing with medical emergencies and safeguarding.
