Our view of the service
Date of assessment 22 March 2024 to 12 June 2024. The assessment was prompted in part due to concerns received about how people received their medicines. A decision was made for us to inspect and examine those risks. Custom Care Wolverhampton provides personal care to older people living in their own homes. There were 404 people using the service at the time of our inspection. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. We found medicines were managed in a safe way by staff who had been trained to administered these. There was a system in place to ensure people received their medicines when needed and when areas of improvement had been identified these had been actioned.
People's experience of this service
We received mixed views from people and relatives about their experiences with medicines management. People and their relatives were mainly happy with how their medicines were administered. When people had raised concerns, the provider had taken action to resolve this.
