During a routine inspection
We spoke with nine people who used the service individually as well as with four focus groups where people were able to give us their views about the Drug and Alcohol Recovery Service (DARS) at the prison. They were positive about the standard of care and treatment they received.
We saw that people's needs were reviewed regularly. We saw that people were treated with respect. They were given information and advice about their drug and alcohol problems and any treatment they received.
The provider worked with other healthcare providers to ensure that people received continuity of care.
We saw that staff were supported to be trained to an appropriate standard.
We looked at records which showed that the provider was regularly monitoring the quality of its service.
