Our view of the service
Dr Shepherd & Partners is a general practice (GP) providing general medical services to a registered population of approximately 8900 patients in Filey. Following the previous inspection of this service under our old methodology in November 2019 it was rated as being good overall and for all key questions. We carried out this assessment on 5 June 2024 due to feedback received into CQC. We looked at quality statements in the key questions of safe and well-led. During this assessment we found that the way the practice was led and managed mainly promoted the delivery of high-quality safe care and good access for patients. However, we identified a breach of regulation in relation to staffing as we were not assured that persons employed in the provision of regulated activities received the appropriate support, training, appraisal, professional development and supervision to enable them to carry out their duties. The service has therefore been rated as good for the provision of safe services but as requires improvement for the provision of well-led services. The services remains rated as good for effective, caring and responsive services so therefore remains rated as good overall. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
