During a routine inspection
This was a scheduled inspection. However, shortly before our visit we received information to suggest that following the departure of the registered manager, the staff were struggling to cope. We took this information into account during our inspection.
People we spoke with were extremely complimentary about the service they received. One person told us it was, 'Very very good'. Another person said, 'They have fulfilled my requirements admirably'.
Staff we spoke with were generally satisfied with the support they received from the owner and the office team. Some staff missed the expertise of an experienced manager. The owner assured us that a new manager was about to be appointed.
We found that care plans were comprehensive and person centred. We saw that the plans and associated risk assessments were regularly updated.
We saw evidence of a comprehensive staff training package. We also saw details of the induction programme for new members of staff. Staff told us that they felt they had been equipped with the skills they needed to do carry out their roles.
We saw that the provider carried out a range of audits on a regular basis to monitor the quality of its own performance and to learn from any mistakes made.
