During a routine inspection
We met with the practice manager, the lead dental nurse, three dentists and their dental nurses and two hygienists. We noted the receptionists were also qualified dental nurses, which meant they could assist the dentists if and when required.
People said and we saw records which demonstrated people were well informed of the options available to them. The dentists told us about the different tools they used to explain procedures to people.
People said they could make appointments easily and they were welcomed warmly by all of the staff. One person told us 'when I was worried I was seen straight away.'
We looked at electronic records. Records provided a good audit trail of people's treatments, advice given and decisions made.
The practice had policies and procedures in place to safeguard children and adults. Staff were aware of the policies and where they could access information if they were concerned about someone's safety.
People told us they were very happy with the standard of cleanliness at the practice. One person commented, 'It's spotless here.'
The majority of people we spoke with said they had no reason to make a complaint or raise a concern about the practice.
