Caring
People were cared for by kind, supportive and polite staff. People were able to make choices and supported to take part in activities. People's individual needs were planned for, and staff knew them well. Staff felt well treated and supported.

Kindness, compassion and dignity
People were treated with kindness and compassion. People and their relatives had good relationships with staff who respected them and their homes. Some of the comments from people's relatives included, ''The staff are kind to [person]'', ''The carers respect [person] and [their] property'', ''They are absolutely kind and they are good friends'', ''The carers know [person] very well'', ''The carer is kind, friendly, patient and has a good relationship with [person]'' and ''They are calm, gentle and friendly. They treat [person] well and respect our family.''
Staff spoke respectfully about the people they cared for.
We did not receive any feedback from external partners about this aspect of the service. No concerns have been identified.
Treating people as individuals
People's relatives told us they had been involved in planning their care and people were treated as individuals.
Staff were able to speak about people's individual needs and personalities. They knew people well and worked with them regularly.
The provider had created individual care plans for each person. These were personalised and showed how people wanted to be cared for and supported. These were regularly reviewed and updated with the person.
Independence, choice and control
People were supported to make choices about their care. Comments from people's relatives included, ''[Person] can tell the staff what [they] want and has choices'', ''They respect [person's] choices'' and ''The carers respect choices but also try gentle persuasion to help [person] if [they] need to do something for [their] own benefit.'' Relatives also told us staff supported people to be independent where they were able. One relative commented, ''The carers are helping [person] improve [their] walking.'' Some people were supported to take part in activities and access the community. People's relatives were happy with this support.
Staff told us they enjoyed spending times with people they cared for. One staff member explained they enjoyed supporting them to be independent and learn new skills.
The provider created clear and personalised care plans and risk assessments. There was evidence the person and their family had been involved in creating and reviewing these.
Responding to people’s immediate needs
People's relatives told us staff responded well in meeting people's needs.
The staff explained they read and understood care plans and were able to provide the care people needed within the allocated time they supported people.
Workforce wellbeing and enablement
Staff told us their wellbeing was looked after and they felt supported. Their comments included, ''My needs are met and if I have any concerns there is always support available'', ''If I need to take any days off, my company is very accommodating'' and ''They are very responsive to the requests from their employees.''
There were processes for supporting staff. These included regular team and individual meetings, sharing information and giving staff the opportunity to ask questions and contribute their views.
