Governance, management and sustainability
Staff feedback about working at the service was positive. They told us they felt supported and listened to by the management team. The registered manager was approachable, open, and inclusive and managed the service well. There were good systems in place to enable management and staff to fulfil their role and responsibilities. A staff member told us, "I feel appreciated by the manager and senior team. They recognise good work, and they tell you, so you know you are doing okay. Families are all very supportive and professionals are helpful and can be contacted for advice.”
Governance systems and processes were in place to monitor the overall safety and quality of the service. The registered manager had implemented new processes because of lessons learnt, including monthly audits of call bells and increased checks on people’s skin and pressure care. Training for staff had been updated in safeguarding and continence care and the registered manager was completing training in falls prevention to cascade as learning for all care staff.
