Our view of the service
Home Instead, Brentwood, Billericay and Upminster is a domiciliary care service providing the regulated activity of personal care to people living in their own houses and flats. Not everyone who used the service received the regulated activity of personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks related to personal hygiene and eating. At the time of our inspection there were 84 people using the service, of which 43 people were receiving the regulated activity of personal care. An assessment of the service has been undertaken during which 11 quality statements were reviewed. These were Safeguarding, Involving people to manage risks, Medicines, Safe and effective staffing, Assessing needs, Independence choice and control, Person centred care, Listening and involving people, Equity in experience and outcomes, Shared direction and culture and Governance, management and sustainability.
People's experience of this service
People using the service and their relatives provided very positive feedback about the care and support provided by the domiciliary care service. A relative told us, "I am my family member's full time carer, but having the domiciliary care service to help is wonderful." Another relative told us, "The carers provide a caring service and are very respectful and kind. [Family member] enjoys the carers visits and the conversations they have. [Family member] is very happy and looks forward to them coming."
