People were involved in their care planning and their preferences, likes and needs were clearly documented. People's equality and diversity needs were respected. Staff worked in line with these and demonstrated a commitment to promoting people’s rights and choices.

People told us they felt supported and empowered by staff. One person described staff as “kind, caring and good listeners.” Relatives spoken with said they felt that their loved ones were safe and happy living at Cherry Blossom. One relative said, “My loved one has complex needs and the team have taken the time to get know their needs both physical and emotional and this has had a positive effect on my loved one and they always show they are happy.”

Staff demonstrated a commitment to promoting people’s rights and choices when supporting them.

People’s care record included consideration of their wishes, beliefs, religion, and sexual preferences. People’s end of life wishes had been recorded in their care records if they had chosen to share the information with them.
