People were supported by staff and leaders that were kind and compassionate. Staff told us how they ensure peoples dignity and privacy is respected at all times. People were given choice and control over their own care and people were supported to remain as independent as possible.

People told us staff were caring and they had an allocated key worker they could speak with.

We saw staff supporting people in a friendly way. Staff spent time speaking with people and were kind and caring in their approach.

Staff were aware of people’s preferences and wishes and supported people in line with these. Staff told us of the importance of understanding people's life history and how this may impact them. Staff spoke positively about people.

Health and social care professionals working with the service told us staff are familiar with peoples individual preferences and they engage well with visiting professionals.

People were involved in the regular review of their care plans and risk assessments Weekly support review meetings took place to review people's individual goals to ensure action was taken to meet these.

People were supported to be as independent as possible with their care and support needs, People were able to choose how to spend their time and staff supported them with this, if required. People were allocated a staff member as a key worker who worked alongside the person to achieve their individual goals.

People were moving around the service freely and spending time where they wanted. The interactions we saw between people and staff showed they knew each other well.

Staff described how they supported people with their independence and choices. A staff member told us, "As far as possible we encourage a collaborative approach between our service users and staff to jointly develop service user support plans and risk management. In this way staff are clear about what kind of assistance service users would like."
